2008 Playoff Pool: Day Six

PuckMy, how the mighty have fallen. Us ABOers aren't going to have to sweat it out this spring. The Sens barely made the playoffs and now it appears they're bowing out in four straight in the first round. What a glorious time to be alive!

Hey you opinion-less bastards. That's right, things need to be said.

1) If Pits takes on Det in the finals, lights out for everyone but Drew. His Hudler is kicking my Zetterberg's ass! Makes no sense...

2) The Boon bros are all out two players if Colorado goes down. C'mon Boys... Play defense when the game matters!! Not only that but if Anaheim goes down... Mike and I are in some serious trouble. Steve is in some serious trouble with SJ and NJ players that are both down 2-1. 8-9-10 finish for us?

3) Steve, I told you that Bos/Mon would be a tough fought battle. Time will tell, but Boston is built for the Playoffs and may stifle/rattle the Montreal offensive scheme down the stretch... I still have my money on Montreal, but in my opinion they should be up 2 to 1 in the series.

4) To comment on Mike's Avery comments, I completely agree that he is an ass. But what upsets me more is that no one on NJ went after Avery when he was tossing his stick like an idiot in the air to block Brodeur's view. Maybe Cherry said it best.. the instigator rule is ruining an element of hockey. $100 says that without fear of being tossed out of the game and making your team short-handed in an important play-off game, someone would have throttled Avery. That's the hockey I know and love.

5) Every single year we talk about the teams we are so sure about... and this year all I heard was ANA, SJ, DET.... One team is down 2, One team is down 1 and the other is up 1. How many upsets will we see?

You can't predict this stuff. So I guess my win last year was a fluke after-all....

Bye Sens! I haven't been this excited since Cory Cross (remember him?) scored that OT winner to put the Buds up 3-0.

How could I forget Cory Cross? That goal has immortalized him in Maple Leaf lore.
