Maple Leafs 1, Flyers 4

LeafsPrior to last night's game I read a couple of articles about the excellent timing. The Leafs were running into a slumping team that had lost six in a row. Also, this is a team we have owned, having gone 5-0-1 against them recently. The two points were sitting there, waiting to be taken.

The loss slips us into 12th place in the conference. Vesa Toskala is still nursing a groin injury. Hopefully he's back in net Saturday against the Rangers, although that's likely wishful thinking. I've had enough of Red Light Raycroft.

Current Record  Last Games Season Leaders
15-15-8
38 points

4-1 Loss vs. Philadelphia
4-3 OTL vs. New York Islanders
2-1 Win vs. Florida
M. Sundin - 43
N. Antropov - 35
T. Kaberle - 26

Before this game, everyone was tallking about the slump Philly was in and I thought to myself, "There is no better remedy for a slump than playing the Leafs." sure enough, I was right. There is still time to blow this thing up and begin the rebuilding this year! Alas, MLSE aren't that smart.

We should have blown this up long ago. I don't think it's that MSLE is stupid, it's that they have different priorities. I think they're looking to finish 7th or 8th in the conference and then wishing Tosky gets hot and secures five or so home playoff dates.

When that's your pipe dream, it's time to rebuild.

Philly:
Oh how the time has changed.
Last year they were big and slow, this year they are big and fast.
They will be in a good postion this year to make a run at it, my opion, and I dis-like the peoples and history of this team.
Leafs are looking not as good as they do with Toskila he makes a difference and is missed.
We will make the playoffs this year and hopefully in a good spot, not 8th, Ottawa will eat us.
They have the talent now to get in there but everyone in the conference is better and it does not look promising to be a leaf fan, but hey what the Hell we will stive to be better. It is a saving grace of this team.

Leafs seem to play a scrambly style in front of Raycroft which is just a recipe for disaster.
