Avril's Peaches Tribute

MusicAvril's crappy month continues... On the heels of the great Rubinoos rip-off comes evidence she's been borrowing from Peaches.

I'm not here to hate on our Avril, but often where there's smoke there's a little fire. Jet did pretty well for themselves borrowing melodies and riffs from others. At least Avril is bumming from artists I've never heard of. I didn't know the Rubinoos and I never heard of Peaches.

Here's Avril Lavigne's "I Don't Have to Try" compared with "I'm The Kinda" by Peaches.

I'm just mistified because if she is ripping these off, why choose such crappy songs?

I never liked Avril, but these incidents haven't changed my perspective on her. So what if she used the same riffs? She created her own version, put her own emotions into it. Musicians, especially young musicians tend to put together similar melody lines and chord progressions. It's art, not business, or at least I wish it was. Then I could rest easy that I didn't waste all that time with anything a major record label put out.

Our Avril? Maybe YOUR Avril.

I think her husband taught her how to steal, as his crappy band stole from The Jesus and Mary Chain, etc.

A.R. : There's no art involved with Avril and in retrospect I realise there never was. As far as her putting in her own emotions.. I haven't seen a hint of emotion from her in YEARS

Watch her perform live in 2007 and tell me is you can locate any emotion
