Not Ready To Make Nice

raptorsThe writing's on the wall, and it's a pretty crappy read for Raptor fans. For the second straight game we got creamed and there's no way we're coming back in this series. Teams rarely come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA playoffs. Sure, the Suns did it last year, but these Raptors are not the Phoenix Suns.

I bailed on yesterday's game pretty early. It was making me miserable and it was frightening James. Kidd and Carter were just too much, but I'm not ready to make nice. I don't even think the player formerly known as Air Carter read my letter. He may win this battle, but the war continues. The Raps will be champions before Vince Carter ever hoists that trophy. Mark my words.

We may not win this series - 3 to 1 is a tough deficit to overcome .... but the main difference between this Raptors team and Vince's 2000-01 team is that this team will play with heart and won't roll over.

Vince, you're a great offensive player. No one's ever doubted that. But your character and your inability to do what you were meant to do is what bugs the hell out of me. We all work at jobs we don't like. But most of us have a good work ethic, morals and a sense of loyalty to the people who give us our shots.

When you QUIT playing before being traded you became not only a villain in Toronto, but also in most of Canada. You were once a hero and now you're a heel.

It's not the fact that you left. We expect that in professional sports. It's more the WAY in which you left. You destroyed the team, you destroyed the fan base and you destroyed whatever respect this organization was struggling to get. You quit.

Mike, I can't be there at that game, but if you get a chance - and for that matter, anyone who DOES attend - make sure you let Vince know what you think of him.

"Why couldn't you play like that for us 'til the end, Vince?!?!"

Are you a friggin idiot? Don't ask that, it's a rhetorical question. Vince's 2001 team showed 10 times more heart than Bosh's 2007 team. I guess you missed the 2001 team get past the first round WITHOUT homecourt advantage, while the 2007 team wilted and died WITH homecourt advantage against a .500 team. LOL.
