The Paul Maurice Era Begins

leafsLet the Paul Maurice era in Toronto begin. Sure, it technically began when he was hired to coach the Toronto Marlies last season, but now he's been promoted to coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Paul Maurice era begins now.

It's hard to believe he's still in his 30s. Prior to joining the Marlies he coached the Carolina Hurricanes for over eight seasons, guiding them to the Stanley Cup final in 2002. The players love playing for him and I believe this is the right move for our club.

Now Fergie has to prove his worth and upgrade the personnel that will play for Maurice next season. I'd start with Patrik Elias, the re-signing of Bryan McCabe, another solid blueliner, a top notch goalie...
