Why The Leafs Haven't Won In 38 Years

Hockey

British anthropologists have conducted a study that helps explain why we haven't won a Stanley Cup in my lifetime.  They realized that across a range of sports, wearing red is consistently associated with a higher probability of winning.

There's a variety of reasons for this, including the association with aggression and subconscious intimidation, and the results were clear.  16 of 21 rounds of competition are won by athletes wearing red.  This explains the Montreal Canadiens' success and the recent runs by the Detroit Red Wings and New Jersey Devils.

Most importantly, this explains the constant failures of my Toronto Maple Leafs who don't have a stitch of red in their uniforms.  When we do win, it will be that much more impressive.
