Test Driving the Quintessential Player

Quintessential Player

I was a Winamp guy for most of my MP3 life until I test drove iTunes last month.  The searchability and sortability of iTunes won me over and it was my player of choice for the past six months.  There was one thing though that wasn't quite right.

iTunes was a bit of a resource hog.  From the moment I decide to play a particular song I don't want to wait more than a second before I start hearing it expunge from my speakers.  With iTunes, there was always a hesitation.  It wasn't nearly as light on its feet as Winamp was and this was starting to hinder accessibility to my MP3s.

Another former Winamp devotee suggested I try the Quintessential Player.  I've been test driving it all weekend and so far so good.  It's light on its feet and much less of a resource hog than iTunes was.  I'm willing to sacrifice the superior sorting and searching options in iTunes for faster access to my tunes.

We'll see if QCD sticks.
