DisappointingCanada entered this weekend with two medals and a great deal of hope. We were expected to easily double and possibly triple that count by the end of competition on Sunday. We always excel in rowing and our Men's Eights entered the Olympics with a two-year unbeaten streak and was widely viewed as one of our best gold-medal hopes. I, for one, was ready for the gold rush.

This morning our world champion unbeatable Men's Eights finished fifth and out of the medals. This glorious weekend in Athens resulted in a single silver medal. It's day nine and we're at a lowly three medals while our neighbours to the South lead with 49 and our sibling down under sits pretty in fifth with 29. There are 32 countrys ahead of us in the current medal standings.

Perdita Felicien, you're our only hope. No pressure!
