Maple Leafs 3, Flyers 2

Go Leafs Go!

With a 3-0 lead late in the third, I actually started to relax.  The badly needed two points was ours.  Then, it got a little hairy.  Much like Tom Henke loading the bases before striking out the batter to end the ninth and preserve the 1 run victory, the Maple Leafs pulled it off last night and once again trail Boston by a mere point for the division lead.

Gary Roberts' opening goal was a beauty.  The Leafs were down two men when Mats Sundin ended up with the puck just as Roberts left the penalty box.  Sundin sprung Roberts on a breakaway for a nifty short-handed goal.  Brian Leetch should be commended as well for his spectacular offensive production since joining the blue and white.  Leetch had two goals and an assist giving him 11 points in eight games with Toronto.
