Tom Wolfe, Dead at 88

Tom WolfeTom Wolfe was 88. He was the white-suited pioneer of "new journalism" who exuberantly chronicled American culture from the Merry Pranksters through the space race before turning his satiric wit to such novels as The Bonfire of the Vanities and A Man in Full.

James Edgar

RIP
I Don't think I ever did read any of his books but The Right Stuff was a pretty Epic Movie for me in the early 80's when I was immersed in military culture having joined the Army reserves in 1982.

Could never find a way into reading his work, but did enjoy the horrific movie adaptation of
'Bonfire of the Vanities", if only for the complete and utter awfulness of Melanie Griffith's trainwreck
of a performance. "You know I'm a sucker for a soft d..., Sherman" is a classic line for the ages.
Godspeed, my good sir!!
