Getting Excited

Getting ExcitedNow that my wife is in her third trimester, I'm starting to get excited. I'm only a couple of months away from meeting my son Jarvis.

As the father, there's really only so much you can do during the pregnancy. You try and make your wife as comfortable as possible, drive her to her OB GYN appointments and wait. I've been patiently waiting for 30 weeks throughout a thankfully uneventful pregnancy but now I've switched from patient waiting to eager anticipation.

I remember this same sensation 12 years ago with the birth of my first son and 10 years ago with the birth of my daughter. You watch the belly grow, feel the baby's movements and start wondering what he or she will look like.

We're in the homestretch now. I can't wait.

It is fun isn't it! Babies smell so good I'd wish they would make car fresheners in that scent.

Any idea how you're going to find time for this new 'person'? What are you going to cut out of your schedule in order to free up time for Jarvis - blog, podcast, Leafs, cycling, swimming, parenting those other kids, work, The Wire, 'communicating' with the wife, travel, The Wire, listening to other podcasts, bathing...

My wife was that size at 4 months & that's when we realized either discrepancy in due date or multiples.

Twins born 1 1/2 months early in Dec.

Good Luck Mike & Monica & hopefully a healthy baby & that's all that is important. After that it's up to Mom & Dad to do parents responsibilities.

P.S. My wife worked her last day 3 days before our kids were born.

This picture, I should point out, is Monica at 30 weeks. No multiples here!

Happy, healthy and super cute! The best days are yet to come - and that's saying something with all the cool shit going on in Boon Land - enjoy it all, Mike and Monica.

Monica is glowing, no doubt you are too. That's a Jetsons-ish like High Chair you have. Never seen one like that before. Then again it has been about 16 years since one has been needed in my house.

She is that very image of a "glowing pregnant mom-to-be". We're all excited for the two of you, Mike.

Congrats Mike and Monica. So his name is Jarvis? You already picked a name. Anyway, my trainer didn't tell me his son's name until after he was born.
