There was a time when complaining about the demise of CFNY / 102.1 the Edge was what we did best over here. Our primary target was usually Program Director Ross Winters who prompted former Edge DJ Barry Taylor to label the station "Top 40 with grunge".
Corus Entertainment has just given Ross Winters the boot. The man who let Martin Streek and Barry Taylor go, brought us Fearless Fred from Edmonton, said farewell to Jason Barr and Bookie, is no longer Program Director at CFNY.
Cool Steve might have said it best. "The alternative format is left without a good home to represent it." We're left with our MP3 playlists, Spotify, satellite radio and music blogs.
The Edge became dull long ago.
