Great post Mike! I agree with the Mr Fascination that for most people religion has been a positive thing. That said, its also been responsible or used as a shield by a smaller number, for some of the greatest atrocities committed.
Not sure if youve seen Nick Ginsburg's video - its been around for a while but worth a look if you havent seen it.
