A Gift For Your Girl? Free $50 Dove Spa Gift Card For Ya

Published by Toronto Mike on December 13, 2011 @ 10:41 in Miscellaneous

giftDove Spa Canada gave me a $50 gift card to give away to a reader, so here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to ask that you leave a comment telling me what you're buying your significant other and I'll randomly pick one of you to get this $50 gift card. The deadline is Friday at noon.

The folks at Dove Spa just want me to tell you that Season's Treatings from Dove Spa make the perfect gift for her. Right now you can buy a $100 gift card, and get a $50 gift card for free. Blah, blah, blah... really Dove Spa? Season's Treatings? Eek.

Regardless, a free $50 gift card for leaving a silly little comment (make sure you include your email address in the email field so I can send you the card) is a pretty sweet deal and you could easily regift it and make your gal very happy, ya cheap bastards!

dovespa

They wanted this promotion to be for guys, but I won't discriminate. Just let me know what you're buying your SO...

Decided We're Not Exchanging Gifts This Year. Did Some Work On The House Instead - Been A Though Year. We've Both Worked Hard - She's Extra Busy @ Night Driving The Kids To Their Activities. She Could Use The Pampering.

Same here... no gift exchange this year. But she might be getting a Dove Spa $50 gift card anyway. :))

LOL we're not exchanging gifts either. Gift exchange is so 80s, man!

But damn, my mom needs something. This would do just fine.

Is anyone exchanging gifts with their significant other?

Buying the wife some makeup and stuff. Spent most of my money on my 2 year old daughter.

oh yes, yes indeed!

I'm purchasing her a cue-ball with a head strap, the purpose of which I'd rather not say.

I bought my wife an iPhone.

A $50 gift card to a place I have never heard of would be ideal.

Where is this place?

Toronto Mike

@McNulty

Dove Spa is a place? I had no idea... thought it might be soap or something.

A little Googling tells me there's one at Yonge and St. Clair, one in Etobicoke, another in Oakville and one in Richmond Hill.

I'd go for the Indian head massage.

I got her an iPad 2. Of course I'm going to borrow it often so I really got us an iPad 2.

Devo

I'm going all out this year and getting her some Myrrh. Maybe some Frankincense if the price is right.

I'm getting the wife Modern Warfare 3 for the xbox because she's the best wife a man could ask for. If I want to go watch the leafs with my buddies, all I have to do is help her put our son to bed, walk the dog, then she's happy to play some xbox while I enjoy the hockey game.....she'd love a trip to the spa..I love her..so Mr. Mike can I please have that GC.

I'm knee-deep in it this year again, since I never have good gift ideas. This year I got her a purse from Roots I KNOW she wants, but that's the extent of it.

I got her a yoga bag, and some earrings she wanted.

Ken

I got her a Lululemon gift card. It's what she wanted!

I am getting her a pandora charm.

We bought each other tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show. Because gifts are great, but Christmas music with pyrotechnics and lasers-- whoa.

Lorne has it right. By tickets to do fun things together. Hell, a spa is fine, or the trans-siberian orchestra.

Buy quality time.

Cheryl

I don't exchange gifts either. I don't buy gifts. I don't have a significant other or kids. Christmas is so commercialized. Bah humbug. Go Habs.

Heather
December 13, 2011 / 19:31

I think I deserve it. Long term marriage down the drain...dumped 2 weeks ago by a jerk who cheated on me with his best friend's wife. No significant other...cause I'm faithful! If I don't get anything for Xmas, that's okay. Karma Klaus is coming.

Toronto Mike
December 13, 2011 / 19:37

@Heather

Karma Klaus doesn't exist, unfortunately.

Sounds like you're having a shitty month.

Dove should give you more than a $50 gift card.

Luc
December 13, 2011 / 20:10

I buy my wife dvd box sets of her favorite shows. That's usually Greys Anatomy or Desperate Housewives. This year it's The Good Wife.

Cheryl
December 13, 2011 / 20:30

Well, Santa Claus doesn't exist either. He is an ordinary man who puts a pillow in him to make him look fat. Santa Claus is phony. He doesn't come down the chimney because no chimney would fit a man. It's all hogwash. Go Habs.

I am going for true romance - she wants a new steam cleaner.

VegasGeoff

I bought my wife a Coach purse. It was deeply discounted on Black Friday, but she doesn't need to know that...

Lorne
December 14, 2011 / 08:37

@VegasGeoff: I don't get the Coach crazy, but people who like it really seem to like it. A friend of mine went on a cruise for their honeymoon, and chose the port of departure based on a nearby Coach discount outlet.

Then again, I planned my honeymoon around the chocolate festival in St. Stephens, NB (and it was good!). =)

Well, it has been a struggle as everything she has mentioned that she wants she has quickly gone out to get. So, today I decided on a spa package. It is nice to be done and ready for Christmas!

I take the kids out (ages 5 and 3) and let them pick. This year they didn't do too bad. No restrictions, they come up with the idea and I just take them to the right store, and they choose. My wife's getting new athletic shoes and a scarf.

December 14, 2011 / 19:35

I'm single, so my SO is myself and I'm buying her amy winehouse's lioness on vinyl, tickets to the F'd Up christmas benefit and whiskey. I hope none of your husbands and wives have their xmas surprises spoiled...

As well as the usual thoughtful presents (a game for the Wii, a Willow Tree sculpture that she collects, some jewellery, books, music for her iPod, etc.) this year I am also giving her a different kind of gift: instead of going away someplace warm with her this winter (her mom always gives us a gift of travel money to help out) I suggested she take that money and go away with her widowed mom instead while I stay home and look after the rest of the family. She "opened" this gift early and the two of them are as excited as two little girls going to Disney for the first time.

It does seem to have been the right gift to give. :)

I bought myself a BlackBerry Playbook and a trip to Costa Rica ;-)

I'm buying my lady an iTunes gift card so she can get some of her favourite apps for her iPhone. Good chance she'll get some pajamas as well. Otherwise, I've been stumped what to get her. We put a $100 limit on gifts for each other as $$ is tight. $50 spa gift card would score me HUGE brownie points!!

P.S. God bless Humble and Fred!

Got her a WAG JAG coupon for some Fair Trade Organic Chocolate and another for some Kobe Classic Beef. I think she's getting me a bootleg copy of the Pink Floyd concert I attended in Hamilton back in '75. Fingers crossed anyways. Merry Christmas!
