So? How Do You Like Humble and Fred Radio So Far?

Published by Toronto Mike on October 17, 2011 @ 18:30 in Humble and Fred

humble and fredEpisode two was just posted at http://www.humbleandfredradio.com/. I'm in this one, and as a result, I haven't listened yet. I hate how I sound on the radio.

Besides, I'm far more interested in what you all think. Have you heard it yet? What did you think? Is it easy enough to access?

a radio station should hire them, imho

Good but about half the time of the shows has been aimless rambling. Tighten up, boys!

Keep the aimless rambling, it makes the show great. Just like they were in the90's, they're great now. The equipment failures seem fitting too, kinda fun to listen to H&F tapdance around the technology crumbling around them.

Hope they start to bring in the phone in characters. The phoney D. Cherry-- H. Stern -- S. Harper -- they need to stir up some counterversery to get the media talking about them.

Love the senseless ramblings, that is why I listen. Unscripted appeals to me, none of this we have to break for traffic, or I'm coming up against the clock on the scripted stations.
Going to need to buy an Ipod or something to get it into my car. My wife thinks I'm crazy sitting and listening over my laptop, I tell her it's just like watching TV, but more senseless. LOL

Loving it! Great to hear the guys back on the air. Making me feel young again!

Love it. Now listening to prior day's post on the drive in. It's like the good old days, but instead of having to leave the car for the office and miss the show, I just listen to the rest on the drive home. No more sportstalk radio for me.

Mike, great info on how to access the podcast. I needed that. I was manually downloading and copying to my BB, but will now use BlackBerry Podcasts to subscribe. (You sound fine!)

Great hearing Alan Cross. His voice seemed to add an air of legitimacy to the whole broadcast.

Where's Dan Duran? Isn't he unemployed? He seemed to have everything running glitch free for the previous podcasts.

What kind of listener numbers do they need to keep this thing viable? Would hate to lose them again.

Hopefully useful feedback: I found that Fred did sound 'thin' compared to Howard, but I think Pete is fixing that. And the music tracks didn't quite sound as 'radio quality' as the guys' voices.

Please share with H&F that this is one listener who is committed to listening every day.

@Ray

Great feedback! Actually, that goes for everybody. Keep it coming. I assure you all, Humble and Fred are reading these comments...

The Spoons track yesterday would have sounded poor, because it was actually from YouTube.

Dan Duran is a great friend of the show, but his problem is geography. He moved out of Toronto a couple of years ago and now lives far, far away. We'll get him in the studio one day.

I love it. I listened to it at work and was giggling in my cube, I am listening to # 2 as I write this.

I am so happy these guys are back.

I am so thrilled that H&F are back. I have a long commute and I am actually looking forward to the long drive home. I'm heading to Mexico in a couple of weeks and I will be bringing Humble and Fred to the beach with me. Pack your bags boys ;)

I agree with Ray about the music tracks not being the same radio quality as the talking. It wasn't just the Spoons song that sounded tinny. However the talk segments sound great!

Keep up the good work - I don't plan to miss any podcasts!

In the first episode they played The Stone Roses, and now that band is shockingly back together.

Good omen?

I'm pretty sure they played the Stone Roses in episode 2 b/c Alan Cross talked about the reunion rumour.

So far, so great. We were listening to it the other night.

Had an issue where the subscribe wasn't showing up on the iPad but logged into iTunes on the computer (ewww, gross) and was able to subscribe.

Would be interesting to see the d/l numbers. Any chance mike?

I thought what you're calling episode one was like a preview pilot episode zero type thing.

So, ok, episode 2, yup. :)

I still think the SR thing is a good omen!

This may be just my problem, but on both the Media player and Google Listen on my phone, the correct total playing time isn't being displayed- According to Google listen the podcast shows as being 5 hours 18. It makes it quite difficult to find your spot after you've paused it.

H&F are great! I like them better on the internet, gives them more freedom to do their thing. It is long overdue that they are back together.

Welcome back guys!!

Mike, one of the comments (@Ray)above was "What kind of listener numbers do they need to keep this thing viable? Would hate to lose them again" that is a great question for either you to answer or them. It would be a shame for them to go away again without finishing their job of wrecking the internet.

I absolutely LOVE them, and you sound great...if I wasn't in a relationship...(just sayin').

I was floored when they read my email on Friday. I know it's a small thing, but it made my weekend that the guys liked my "flirting." They made my commute bearable in the 90s to university and they're making my life so much more exciting now. I love the rambling, and how often they digress.

I have another question and it's not about Dan Duran, but...when can fans drop by and be part of a live studio audience???
