They tried this moron in 3 different time slots and he failed at all of them.

But what is worse is pd Kollins giving him the gas pipe without a replacement...

I like Brady and Lang a lot. They're funny, and do a pretty good job talking all sports.

The Mike Richards show, and TSN Radio in general, has been pretty underwhelming to me so far.

Bring back The Big Show! I miss the Big Show, the best afternoon radio sports and entertainment show ever. Gord's Gold! Bring it back now, Gord can have the summer pool party.

I'm having a difficult time staying with Brady/Lang, and their fake opposing views, and Brady doesn't know when enough is enough, and he drags on and on about the most mundane topics. Lang whines. They just don't have it.

Andrew Krystal's been completely removed from the FAN 590 website. He's done. Krystal was pretty bad, I'm glad he's gone. He was decent and talking and doing back-and-forth banter with a guest but his formal interviews were TERRIBLE.

As far as TSN radio goes, it's a mixed bag with them. Some of it I like, some not so much. Richards and Brady and Lang are on an even keel with me, but I listen to Richards a lot more because he has Dreger on at the same time every day when I'm in the car in the morning. I also have to give a shout-out to Bryan Hayes, he's my favourite behind Mccown. The guy's obviously a sports fanatic and really knows his stuff.

My sports radio listening preferences pretty much go like this:

I listen to TSN 1050 in the morning (Richards, Hayes, Kouleas) and the FAN 590 in the afternoon and evening (Krystal - not anymore, Mccown, Sammut).

I still think Landry and Stellick were far above anything there is now. I could only take Brady/Lang in small doses. Brady is so annoying most of the time.

As for Richards....I'm still trying to figure out how this guy was number 1 out west. Completely underwhelming and boring and predictable.

I like Lang but I could do without Brady. He's just one of those broadcaster's that you can never attach yourself too. You get the feeling that this is just a steeping stone to something else and that’s why he doesn’t attract loyalty from the average listener. Tries to be funny and if you’re ten years old, I’m sure the jokes mean something.

I never listen to 590 in the morning anymore and now listen to Richards. Morning Shows should be about entertainment and not just reading score results and asking the same boring robotic questions. Richards entertains and makes you want to keep on listening.

I didn’t mind Krystal and to be fair he wasn’t given anytime to develop the show. Kollins should start to look for new employment, the Fan590 job merry-go-round is a disaster.

Brady used to be more tamed when with Watters. I noticed now in the mornings on the drive-in to work that Brady whines too much! I really like him. He is a good guy; but I think he is trying too hard.

Sad to see Krystal go to be honest. He had a good run these last few weeks. (Although the Vancouver/Sedin Sister bashing was a bit over the top tbh.)

The Sedin sisters and calling out Luongo was classic, so was the baiting of any Habs fans.
Krystal was pro Toronto, I give him props for saying it.
He was on a bit of a roll and growing on me.
His segments with Howard Berger were an absolute disaster. Hanging up on people and the whole Krystal nation thing got me to write complaints into fan590 website.
All in all, I was willing to listen to the guy lately.

Stellick? My God, please no, so mind numbing and an embarassment as an ex Leafs AGM. Can this guy be more boring?
Lajoie and Deacon? Come on, this is a major market, don't we deserve some real sports radio talent?
Get some fresh voices in there.

The Fan590 is slipping away more day by day. Their never-ending Torontocentric talk was great 10 years ago, but i have 1000 options now, and hearing more navel gazing and self promotion for a bad baseball team and hockey team are boring. I'll take my eyes and money elsewhere...

Makes me wonder how Kollins still has a job...

I generally enjoyed Krystal. He was interesting. Lots of people are not. Too bad so many of them are on the air. I will listen to Krystal wherever he goes next (thanks to the internet)

like many don't know how Kollins still has a job in radio as nitwit Krystal had three chances and blew it. Firing hockey guru of 23 years following the sport Howaard Berger also a bad call by K. AK can pretend to be 'shock jock' like H.Stern but not in sports.

Would be delicious irony for Stellick and Berger to host mid aft show, and would be lot better than boring Smith overly hypered Armstrong.

Finally they fire that asshole Andrew Krystal. The guy was so unprofessional as a broadcaster, it made me sick. All his shtick was to stir the pot and usually led to a lot of angry callers. If a caller phoned in to argue a point with him, he'd constantly cut the person off and hang up on them. These past few weeks with the Sedin / Luongo bashing was getting pretty lame too.

I hope Krystal re-surfaces somewhere. Though I couldn't stand him when he first started at the Fan...but he grew on me, in fact I thought he was outstanding! No doubt I'd put him in Bob Cat's league.
Brady should have been shown the door the day after he arrived...man-o-man does he ramble on! and on and on...
can't listen to him at all. Wakey wakey Don Kollins.

The only thing Krystal could talk about was hockey and even then he seemed like an uneducated fan with a mic. Personally, both 590 and 1050 have terrible morning shows. The fan was much better before they made all the changes.

I was pleasantly surprised a few weeks ago when I turned on The Fan in the afternoon and didn't hear Krystal's annoying banter. He's the reason I turned the fan off after hockey central. I'm enjoying Gord Stellick very much, and will keep my dail on 590AM for the afternoon show.

I loved Krystal, he was an original. I don't like Brady, I hate Blair, he's such a windbag, he puts people on hold while he blabs on and on... Stellick is okay but a bit manic, Lajoie is good, Smith is okay, but the best one now is Jeff Sammut who is hysterical, but he's the overnight guy.

As a few have mentioned, one would think that as a radio host, one would know that if you ask a question, you may want to wait for the person to finish speaking before rudely interupting them!

Brady and Lang brought me back to listening to the Fan in the morning, because after trying Krystal for a couple of weeks, I ended up listening to WGR in Buffalo! (yup, he was THAT bad)

Overall, I still prefer Landry and Stellick, but I am good with Brady and Lang.

...and to @Mike, in your world, Blair is more of a "windbag" than Krystal??? Really??

As a long time day time listener who has 590 on from 6am-7pm Mon-Fri (I go back to the beginning at 1430) I really didn't mind Krystal. I liked that he was a homer and that he told you what he was really thinking. I also like the fact that he was kind of like watching a NASCAR race ... sure you like the individuals and the story lines but you were really secretly waiting for the big crash!! That's exactly what AK is ... you never know what's coming but you know it'll be a doozy and you want to make sure you're listening when it happens!!

As for the morning show on 590 ... far more enjoy Brady & Lang then Landry & Stellick. I had a hard time listening to those two. Landry was better when he was with Marsden and Gordy just isn't cut out for broadcasting (sorry Gord ... nice guy but too geeky for me). Brady & Lang are interesting on most subjects and are definitely tuned into the sports scene. I tried Richards on 1050 ... YAWNER.

IMHO the best morning show was Derringer & Marsden on the Fan .... i miss that the most!!

Back to 590's line-up ... leave Brady & Lang in the morning. You need a stronger host for the mid-morning, Blair's doesn't keep my attention (very bland and uninteresting)... would love to hear the Deacon in that time slot, he's entertaining and thought provoking ... Hockey Central is good and I get that there will be revolving guest hosts in that time slot during the summer months and don't have any issue with that ... early afternoon needs someone solid, I used to enjoy Hogan & Landry "Monsters of the Mid-day", something like that to be a strong bridge to Bobcat ... for the record, HATED Swirsky ... Bobcat's the franchise , say no more and as far as the the rest of the day (evening) goes, i'm not usually listening as I'm home by that time.

I was just googling to find out whatever happened to Krystal after being away for the summer.

What a relief to find out that FAN finally let him go. I stopped listening to the morning show after quickly tiring of his pandering to the T.O. market in lieu of having any real insights of his own (rushing to the defence of Don Cherry? Please...) or else his abysmal interview technique: Which seemed to consist of nothing but ranting at whomever his subject was and ending with "...you say what?"

It seemed clear from the get-go that he was in way over his head in this market. What took the FAN so long? Best of luck to you Krystal, hope you land on your feet, just not on my pre-set stations.

Could not stand Krystal. The result was my changing the morning radio station for the first time in 10 years, and that was within the first week he was on air at The Fan 590. He was The Mistake by the Lake. Landry and Stellick were done, there was no argument. Their product became more and more stale as Landry's ego continued to inflate. The duo of Brady and Lang are doing a fair job albeit it is Lang who brings the soul to that show as Brady has been instructed obviously to argue about every point and every thing. Some weeks, like this week, he needs to be settle down and back off the coffee.

The Fan parades Nick Kypreos out there 24/7 like he's the freaking "Ghandi of Hockey". Can his delivery be any slower...we're not all tards you know, Saganaki breath! Bob "Ugazz" McCowan is the only signature piece they have. Their best stuff these days comes from their American guests (like Rosenthal etc). Stellick? Oh hell no!

He practically launched news 95.7. Maritime Morning . he made the station stand out above all the rest .He spoke his mind and what's wrong with that .He made a wrong move when he went to Toronto .He used to call it the great satan .he surte has the voice for radio or tv .
