Uptime / Downtime from The Kleptones

Published January 2, 2010 @ 11:27 in Music

CDThe Kleptones "released" one of my favourite albums of all time. I almost wrote "favourite mash-up albums", but that's not true. A Night at the Hip-Hopera is one of my favourite albums overall, just like Girl Talk's Feed the Animals was my favourite album of 2008.

The Kleptones have a new album available for download here. It's called Uptime / Downtime and I'm downloading it as I type.

Here's the cover art. Do you recognize the city?

It looks great! I'm also looking forward to the Atom Egoyan film set in Toronto.

It's definitely Young and Dundas here in Toronto, which begs the question...

Why did the Kleptones go with a pic of Toronto? I understand he's UK born and based.

If anyone can shed light on this mystery, I'd love to hear it.

I'll bet Eric Kleptone doesn't even know it's Toronto.

Well, the important thing is that the city is passing the blind "taste test" for awesomeness.

Hey mike, yes I did know it was Toronto (most of Sam's photography is :) but you're right it had little bearing on the choice - I just thought the duality of the images perfectly complemented the two sides of the album - now you know!

Thanks for plugging the album also - hope you're liking it
