The Favre Factor

Published by Toronto Mike on January 22, 2010 @ 18:21 in Sports

nflI quit the NFL years ago, but this Sunday I'm going to watch every minute of the NFC championship game. For me, it's all about Brett Favre.

Brett Favre is my kind of player, the epitome of heart, and I've been watching him for the better part of two decades. I became a Favre fan in 1992 and when he led the Packers to a Super Bowl win in 1997, I celebrated like the home team had triumphed. Amazingly, he hasn't missed a single game since '92. He's as durable as he is dominant.

Here are a few entries I've written about Brett Favre over the past seven years.

At 40-years-old, Favre will become the oldest quarterback to start a conference championship game when he takes the field in New Orleans. At 35-years old, I'll be watching my favourite football player of all-time. I'm not ready for this ride to end.

I feel the same way. I love watching Brett play the game. My fingers are crossed that Minny can beat New Orleans.

I was all ready to root against Favre this year, what with all the un-retirement drama for the SECOND year in a row. He's just played so good though, it's so obvious that he's still got what it takes. I can't decide who to root for at this point, but I can't wait for the game regardless.

Defense almost always prevails in these games. I see Minny winning it with a good running game by AP and really not sure how New Orleans can be favored by 4....

Good passing game, good running game, good defense, good special teams. What will stop Minnesota from exposing NO defensive weakness?

Favourite? Come on Mike, get your head out of your ass. Unless you have a MASSIVE EGO like this guy, then I can understand why you like him. It is all about HIM.

This guy contradicts himself alot. You see him talking about respect but then he goes & throws an extra TD against the Boys with the game already won. WHY? for his personal records, thats why.

I hope the Saints cream this shithead once & for all!!!!

Horgi, we disagree completely.

I hope the Vikings murder the Saints tomorrow.
