Maple Leafs 2, Lightning 3
Published by Toronto Mike on January 22, 2010 @ 07:57 in Toronto Maple Leafs
It was just another night at the office for our Leafs. This time, we decided to dig deep for a new way to lose. How about too many men on the ice in the last minute of overtime. That'll work...
And that led to the Lightning scoring the winner with 9.8 seconds left in OT. If you're tracking this at home, and you should be, that's our 35th loss in 52 games. It ain't easy being this bad.

Amazing how a couple of bad called can change the outcome.
Leafs lead with 4 mins left... Just as Pony goes to him that little weasel St.Louis, he turns around to shield the puck at the last second and a clean hit looks like a hit from behind... 2 mins.... Tie game... Pony gets out of the box, skates over to the leaf bench - smacks his stick again the boards in fustration (which happens all the time in games)... Another 2 mins... Leafs kill that one... Overtime... The puck moves into the leaf bench area as their in the middle of a line change... Stajan's jumps off - 2mins in OT... ?!? Come on, yes it was too many men.. But marginally and not in OT... 3 bad calls against the Leafs in the final 8 mins of the game. Even the TV guy made mention....
