Foo Fighters - Wheels

Published by Toronto Mike on December 13, 2009 @ 19:58 in SLS ~ Smells Like Sour

slsI'm submitting a song for SLS22 consideration. I'm submitting "Wheels" by Foo Fighters.

I've been hearing "Wheels" all over the place for months. I'd hear it, I'd think "that's not a bad tune", and then I'd forget about it.

Today I heard "Wheels" and thought "why the hell haven't I thrown that on the SLS22 shortlist?". So I did.

Let me start by saying I like the FFs, and I like Dave Grohl, but ya know, Dave Grohl used to make fun of Extreme for being mainstream (another band I liked). Now listen/look at the FFs.

The fact that you'd 'forget about it...' (the tune that is)says something.

These Crooked Vultures is much more interesting.

It's hard to believe that a guy that drummed for Nirvana could make such horrid drivel as of late. I haven't been interested in the Foo Fighters since The Color and the Shape.

I don't think its a bad song, but it sounds like a Tom Petty cover to me. Whether that's good or bad thing, I dunno.

"I don't think its a bad song, but it sounds like a Tom Petty cover to me."

I see where you're coming from, but as a Tom Petty fan I'm a tiny bit insulted. I'd like to think he could still do better than this.
