In Memorium Soupy Sales was 83. He was a pioneer of slapstick television comedy who once estimated he had taken 20,000 pies in the face.

I'm old enough to remember his kiddie show in the sixties and him always taking a pie-in-the-face. End of an era...

Soupy Sales seemed to be ahead of the times with the format of his show, talking/joking with the camera, etc.; he was a great entertainer to be sure
