A Flowchart to Determine What Religion You Should FollowPublished October 26, 2009 @ 17:47 in Losing My Religion
[via Holy Taco] 21 Responses to "A Flowchart to Determine What Religion You Should Follow"Toronto Mike Argie, approximately 17% of the world is Catholic. Is the other 83% betting on the wrong horse? Buffaloboymike The only real choice is Atheism, or at the very least agnostic. Great flow chart! Anyone who takes it seriously is obviously a relious zealot...........for which you have my sympathy. The chart is humorous but yes Mike, 83% of the world are lost. Buffalo Butt Mike - Can you show me proof that God doesn't exist? Buffaloboymike has it right. Religion is "brain washing" at its best...........from cradle to grave! Amazing how each of these cults believe that THEIRS is the right one. Why not have a war about it........winner takes all? Oh sorry, that has been done and is still going on. Religion...NICE!! Army, Yes, many religions do fight and slaughter innocent people in the name of their God (dominated by muslims)but the gravest genocides were perpetrated by godless communists and fascists. Just look up the Chinese revolution, the Nazis, Pol Pot and of course the Soviets. Religion has nothing to do with those atrocities. Oh and before you blame Catholicism for the Nazis, they killed thousands if not millions of Catholics, Gypsies and German homosexuals. I am a devout worshipper of the Church of the FSM, which doesn't need to be part of this flowchart as it is obviously the one and only truth. Argie, prove to me that the FSM does not exist! Also, you are very selective in your examples of other's atrocities. How many millions died at the hands of Christians during the crusades? Buffaloboymike Argie, can you prove to me God DOES exist? Ray - I believe in the spaghetti monster too. The crusades, while over a thousand years ago, was a necessary response to islamic expansion in the middle east. Like Afghanistan of today, it was a difficult task that was unsuccessful. The result is that we have this cult that calls itself a religion that dominates the middle east, south asia and east Africa. Gee, what a coincidence that all of these spots are full of murder, bombings and despair. Buffaloboymike The Bible was written well after the fact too so no one who wrote the thing were actually eye witnesses. Religion had its place at one time in history. It was necessary to keep order, keep people paying their ‘taxes’, and for making a few people wealthy off the back of the masses. Now, as a more civilized, enlightened society can’t we just let it go? Can’t we all accept that we should be too smart to believe these moral ridden fairy tales and cautionary horror stories as historical events anymore? ALL religion breeds contempt and hate, and justifies marginalizing otherwise good, moral, upstanding people. This is done by preying on people's insecurities, need for belonging and acceptance, and fear of death. We need to be smarter than that! Buffaloboymike Well said Ray, those who are most religious may have an extreme amount of faith in their religion but have no faith in themselves. Its time society gave up on religion and started having some faith in itself to do whats right aka Global warming, wars, healthcare Ray, You are right on with that last comment. Religion was a way for the proletariat to keep order and it suited their needs. Egyptians changed "gods" every so often. (allah, buddah, god, jesus christ....it goes on and on with the rest.) This comment is funnier than religion! BLOGGING: A truism? Argie, Re catholicism: Is this the same one that has priests and bishops doing funny things to little boys? Praise the lord!
