Moon Songs to Celebrate Moon Day

Moon40 years ago today, we put a man on the moon. I missed the whole thing, having not been born yet and all. I'll bet it was quite the event. Had I been born, I'd likely have live-blogged it and tweeted the hell out of it.

It's pretty cool we put a man on the moon with 1969 technology. We should do something else for the first time, just to prove we've still got it.

In honour of this 40th anniversary, here are some moon songs culled from my MP3 collection. If you've got a moon song I've missed, drop it in the comments.

I watched it live. 11pm or so i could hardly stay awake I was 6. I still remember.

And I'm saddened beyond belief we stopped there. We should be on Mars now. In the asteroids mining. Thinking about an intersteller trip.

Instead religious idiots are blowing up buldings all around the world and NASA is cutting back.

We suck.

To Devon - we did land on the moon. It's what they found there that they are trying to keep a secret.

Why is it that 1972 was the last year that anyone put a man on the moon? Very curious ...

Because Nixon was in power, and didn't give a shit about the space program, that's why. Obama might take America back to the moon if China goes there.

Another one from the 70s titled "Dancing in the Moonlight"... but not at all what one might expect from... Thin Lizzy!
