Thoughts on Turning 35

Published June 27, 2009 @ 08:22 in Family

birthdayTime is but a measurement, a most egalitarian offender, ageing the rich and powerful and the poor and meek at precisely the same rate. There are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day and 365 days in a year.

Today, I've been alive for:

  • 35 years
  • 420 months
  • 12 755 days
  • 306 600 hours
  • 18 396 000 minutes
  • 1 103 760 000 seconds

How does it feel turning 35? It feels an awful lot like 34. Look for my far more profound entry "Thoughts on Turning 40" in five years.

Plans for the day:

  • Coffee and cinnamon roll
  • Mow my mom's lawn
  • Coffee redux at Tim Hortons
  • BBQ
  • Old man chill time

Now scram ya young whipper snappers, I've got to put in my teeth and get the cream from the ice box. Now I'm cookin' with gas!

You'll never turn 40 if you stop counting at 39. :) hahahah!

Happy birthday!

Happy 35th Mike. I guess you're pretty content at this stage in your life (and probably have been for the past few years). Me - expect a Shakespearean epic from me in August when I turn 33.

Happy Birthday Mike! Turning 35 was ok, this year I had issue with 37 cause that's just too close to the big 40!

J-9.. I hear you... I'm sensing a little 'over-40-abuse' in some of these comments... There's nothing wrong with being 40!!

Now scat!! Scoot!!

Happy Birthday from the other side of 40.

I always find the zero and five years carry a little more punch than any other.

Enjoy the kids ... before you know it they will be taller than you (and thinking they know more) ...
