The English Beat - Mirror In The Bathroom
The English Beat are only The English Beat on this side of the pond, because there was already an American band known as The Beat. The Beat, errr, The English Beat had a funky ska sound and "Mirror in the Bathroom" was my favourite of their singles.

Great background to one of the great fight scenes in movies, John Cusack vs. Benny Urquidez in Grosse Pointe Blank.

LOL. A friend of mine swore the lyrics were "meet her in the back room". It took me ages to convince him otherwise.

Great 2 tone band. That whole wave of Ska that came over in the late 70's wash a refreshing change to all the progressive rock that dominated radio in those days.

I remember visiting T.O. in the late 70's & early 80's and listening to CFNY all we had in Montreal was crappy CHOM-FM who wouldn't even play the clash.

Does Dave Wakeling still play in the band or is it Roger and his son?
