Strange how none of the victims heard the sound of the multi-tonne vehicle approaching (most of them diesel too), or saw the lights in the night scenes. Also, how come none of the drivers see these people in the road or honk -- in a couple of clips, the driver would've had time to get out and change the tires!

I think the driver is targeting the person in some of these clips. Didn't that car see Greg Kinnear from Ghost Town? He was standing in that same spot for 30 seconds.
