Rogers Stops Paying For My Flickr Pro Account

Published by Toronto Mike on May 15, 2009 @ 09:49 in Miscellaneous

thumbs downI give Rogers a good chunk of my hard earned cash every month. I've got Internet, home phone, digital cable and my wife's mobile phone with them. That's a lot of cabbage!

At least Rogers was paying for my Flickr pro account. I'm a heavy Flickr user who used to pay for the Pro account before Rogers started doing that for me. In fact, I think Flickr was the only web service I actually paid for, I liked it that much.

Rogers is no longer giving us Rogers customers a Flickr Pro account for free. I only got the notice yesterday. Rates increase every other month it seems while I keep adding services and I'm rewarded with this news. Thanks, Rogers!

yeah, what a joke. rates go up, service goes down....it's practically their company slogan!

And to think, I would have looked at Rogers just so I can take advantage of the free My Flickr Pro account. Well that's that!

I feel the same way. Don't think that Rogers will be reducing my bill by 24.95 USD.

You think that flickr would offer us a discount since I;m sure Rogers wasn't paying the full nut.

Also Rogers will start charging for incoming text messages. Jeebus

Flickr told me I get a whopping 2 months free when I sign up for a year.

The sucker I am, I signed up for two.

I got that to. I'm not using it but the principle pisses me off.

Horonymous...are you serious? Rogers is gonna start charging for incoming texts?

Oh, this just plain sucks.

Yes and then Rogers will start texting you.

Charges for incoming texts is BS.

I don't even know what Flickr is but I'm really looking forward to not seeing the Jays vs. Red Sox coming up because it's on TSN2 and Rogers still won't carry the channel.

But I've got Speed HD and TLC HD...so it's the Oxycontin 300 race and Jon and Kate Plus Eight in high-def for me!

Mike can we start some kind of petition or something about how we are getting flukrd by Rogers dropping flickr. Similar to the blow back rogers got last year when the launch the iPhone with crappy plans?

Stafford; They should change the name of TLC to the 'TRAIN WRECK CHANNEL". What a waste of wattage......

Let me get this straight...

The Jays will be on TSN2? The Rogers-owned Blue Jays will be on a station not carried by Rogers?

So Rogers is knowingly screwing Jays fans... nice business model.

The Rogers' monopoly approach to service drove me mad. More channels I didn't want for more money. Seemed to happen every few months.

I pulled them out of the house and went to Star Choice satellite years ago. Recently Star Choice became Shaw Direct.

Never any problems. Always get the channels I want. Yes, even TSN2. Best playoffs in years.

In an attempt to get us back, the "win back" department cut us a really good deal on a blackberry. I get the best price from them for it but they still have not re-entered the home.

Rogers can only stick it to you if you let them.

If better service options existed in Guelph for internet or TV I'd leave Rogers in a heartbeat just based on all the goddamn telemarketing calls and other advertising for Rogers Home Phone. Listen, I know it exists, if I want it I'll give you a call. We've even got guys who work for Rogers living in my building and in spite of the signs warning against doing so, they're always coming to the door asking me about my phone rates. I'm about half a second away from telling the guy to go F himself with a rusty rake. I'm pretty happy with our TV package and the internet, but not happy enough to like all of the nickel and diming we get on the pointless rate increases.
