The Guy With His Hand On My Ass Will Be There...

Published by Toronto Mike on April 24, 2009 @ 09:59 in Humble and Fred

PodcastOn May 2nd, us old time Humble and Fred fans are gathering at the Dominion on Queen to watch the guys record their 20th Anniversary Podcast of Memories. That's only two Saturdays from now. The fun starts at 1:30pm, so be there, or be square.

There will be a few special guests. I'm not talking about the obvious, like super producer Dan Duran, I'm talking mega star power! One confirmed special guest is the dude grabbing my ass in this picture.

Jim Peplinski, Nick Kypreos, Stew Gavin and me

I've been away from Toronto and the entire radio/TV scene...whatever happened to Dan? I recall he was playing second banana to Dini Petty years ago, but had some kind of accident and then disappeared.

He's a better TV host than Ben Mulroney. I can't stand the very sight nor sound of him.

Dizz,

Dan does lots of acting and voice over work and imaging for stations.

His son and my son are very good buds and I see him every Monday night at Beavers.

He's 1 million times better than Ben Mulroney, but then again, his 6-year old son is 1 million times better than Ben Mulroney.

Oh yeah, and you'd hardly know he ran a chain saw over his face. I stare at the dude and can't even tell.

Hold the phone...he WHAT? Ran a chainsaw over his face?!??! Good lord, are you serious, man?

I think Ben Mulroney's the single main reason I avoided watching Canadian Idol.

h, I wrote 1:30 in the entry...

Dizz, that chainsaw story is true. Humble can vouch for it... as can Fred. I'll email Dan this link and see if he's ready to talk about it.

Hey the chainsaw thing happened when I was still on the Dini show. We talked all about it then on the show and I was back on air 3 weeks later after 63 stitches. I had a great surgeon and it all healed great
At the moment that I was waiting for the paramedics to arrive I was thinking "boy what a stupid move." "That was really stupid" and also "How stupid could I be" “Stupid Stupid Stupid”
To the present. The last movie I did was 'SAW VI" and the latest VO thing was HGTV's
Top 10 on HGTV Canada and US. The latest thing I did with my son Colton was to help him draw Dialga from Pokémon. “Dad, wouldn’t it be cool if Pokémon were real and we could have them as pets?” “I dunno, do they poop?” “Nope they eat but don’t poop because they evolve”
See you Saturday

Hey DD,
Is it true that you are now forbidden to operate or be in the close proximity of any gas operated tools?
Also will you be handing out any surplus "Dan Duran tote bags" to any of the ladies that might show up next Saturday?

I'm not Dan Duran
:)

I just finished the interviews with Humble and Fred. The definitive Humble and Fred interview will be published here on Monday morning.

It's revealing, it's interesting and it's funny.

Hey Dan, wanna carpool on Saturday? I can walk down to your palatial estate and scene of the west Toronto chainsaw massacre.
