Susan Boyle Free Zone

Published by Toronto Mike on April 24, 2009 @ 18:39 in Miscellaneous

BoyleYou will not find an entry about Susan Boyle on this site. Search as long as you want, but you won't find the YouTube clip of her singing "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables for Britain's Got Talent anywhere on TorontoMike.com.

Is it blasphemy for me to admit I wasn't all that impressed?

This is a cheap attempt to get hits via Google.

Ha, that could be true if it were lower hanging fruit, but the Susan Boyle phenomenon has globally exploded to a point where I expect zero hits from Google due to this entry.

It'd be like trying to rank for Britney Upskirt Pictures or High School Musical.

By writing that there won't be an entry, haven't you just made one?

Good voice, but her 15 minutes were up an hour ago.

I'm with you.

She just wasn't that good. And this is from a guy who got choked up over the opera guy from a year or two ago.

I thought she was good. No way she is going to sustain any kind of fame. She'll probably make a few speeches, get invited to some events and in a couple of years everyone will go 'Susan who?'

She's famous only because she's homely. It's the image, not the talent.

If she was a wispy 22-year old blonde, with the same voice, no one would've ever heard of her.

She's got a nice voice, but really, it's nothing spectacular. I think it's time to forget her and move on.

Exactly, so what's with the obsession with singer attractiveness? I don't think I've ever considered the beauty of a singer when choosing what to listen to.

Hell, is there anyone uglier than Shane MacGowan? I've been listening to his voice all week.

The greatest female voice I've ever heard belongs to a woman who was anything but a wispy 22-year old blonde. Janis was gold, and it didn't matter if I'd hit that or not.

This whole obsession with package is a sad byproduct of American Idol, where it's not as much about the voice than it is about how you look and dress. It's marketability over substance and it's disturbing.

Give me Neil Young over Justin Timberlake every second of every day of every week of every year for all eternity.

She's the anti-Charlotte Church.

Yeah, I know...Charlotte who?

Finally, a Sammi comment.

I've having a debate with OJ guy, who has a big crush on you.

Are you male or female?

The "i" gave you away, but the tone is always so consistently angry and bitter you fit the grumpy old man stereotype.

Include your email addy next time you comment and I'll try to find out why you're so curmudgeonly.
