Sam Mitchell Fired as Raptors Coach

Raptors BasketballNamed NBA's coach of the year a little over one season ago, Sam Mitchell has been fired as head coach of the Toronto Raptors. He's been replaced on an interim basis by Jay Triano, a Niagara Falls, Ontario native best known for coaching the Canadian men's team from 1998-2004.

I'm sorry to see Smitch go, but this team was in danger of being left for good in that wasteland between the contenders and horrible. On a positive note, Jay Triano is now the first Canadian-born head coach in NBA history.

Coach Triano is the best fit for the team. Steve Nash is coming next with Triano on board. Raptors is not just Chris Bosh Team. We should have a balance offense and Bargnani and Jermaine is as equally talented as Bosh.

Kudos to the mgmt team.

Bargnani and Jermaine are not as talented as Bosh, but I agree with your earlier point. We need more than Bosh if we're going to win a series this year.

Nash would be a nice addition...

Will Solomon is better thatn Roko Ukic anyday. The new coach sucks. Solomon played good when Jose Calderon was hurt.
The new coach is a racist and don't know what he is doing.
They giving Ukic playing time and not Solomon. Is the coaching staff just dum or what? Solomon is a good player and I hope a better team pick him up not a sorry team like the raptors, he's better than all of the players they have now.
