Monday Shuffle

iTunesSometimes, on a Monday, I shuffle my entire MP3 collection in iTunes and list the first ten songs that played. Here are the ten tunes I heard today with a personal story about one of them.

  1. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Up Around the Bend
  2. Sarah McLachlan - Do What You Have To Do
  3. The Tragically Hip - Are You Ready
  4. Nivana - Even In His Youth
  5. Saga - On The Loose
  6. Elvis Costello - Miss Macbeth
  7. Billy Paul - Me and Mrs. Jones
  8. Radiohead - In Limbo
  9. Ben Folds Five - Evaporated
  10. Dropkick Murphys - Keep the Faith

Few songs bring me back to the early 80s the way Saga's "On The Loose" does. Saga was from Oakville and "On The Loose" was their big hit. Trust me, this tune was huge... you couldn't avoid it back in the day.

Up Around the Bend was the first real ROCK song I liked. Somebody played it during a talent show when i was in elementary school (lip sync contest) I got a copy of the album it was on right after. My first album as it turned out. I've been a CCR fan since. I think that was about 1968 or 69. Fak! I'm old :(

Saga, yet another Great Canadian band they were Huge in Europe. Just like another largely overlooked Canadian band Harem Scarem.
