Maple Leafs 3, Senators 2

LeafsMy brother yesterday told me he's happy when the Leafs lose, because we're supposed to be losing at this point in the building process. I'm sorry, but I can't do that. I really, really wanted to beat the Sens Saturday night. When Poni scored our 3rd goal, you could have heard my yell in Scarborough.

I've seen this terrible team play eight games, and now I'm questioning all my doom-n-gloom predictions. Ron Wilson has this team playing way over their heads. They're fast, they're playing for ice time and they're earning points. The Maple Leafs have won two straight and earned points in five of six games.

For better or worse, this season is already more fun than last season. We might just have to accept the possibility of a playoff race.

Current Record  Last Games Season Leaders

4-2 Win vs. Boston
3-2 SOL vs. Anaheim

My other brother and I just chatted about this team and we both find it awfully easy to like. Dare I say the 2008/2009 Maple Leafs are lovable?

They are definitely lovable. I am trying hard not to give up my gloom and doom outlook but I am constantly reminded that this franchise will build you up just to tear you down.

But you gotta love beating the sens....

Beat Montreal and Ottawa every time and lose close games to everyone else this season. That's all I want from this team and I'll be plenty entertained AND get a nice draft pick next summer.

Guys - you wanna go Yonge Street to the ACC or take University across?
