Vegas Geoff actually wrote me last night all exited that our AAA farm team would be playing in his backyard. I was surprised we couldn't find an affiliate closer to Toronto than the Las Vegas 51's.
Forever, Syracuse has been home to our AAA team, but the Syracuse Chiefs ended out 31-year relationship in favour of one with the Washington Nationals. Buffalo, which would have been a perfect fit, has signed with the New York Mets. It doesn't sound like we hada much choice but to sign a two-year agreement with a team in Vegas.
Our hockey team can call up a recruit and have him at the home arena in 15 minutes. The Jays will need a little more time.
