Cease and Desist, You Old Fart

Justice"Barracuda" is a rockin' little tune from Heart's 1977 LP Little Queen. The Republican Party has been using it as Sarah Palin's theme song of sorts. Heart is more than a little pissed about this.

Heart sent a cease and desist letter to McCain's camp, but they're still playing the song, claiming they've obtained all necessary licenses. Apparently you can get clearance to use a song like this without actually getting permission from the artists.

I don't believe the ad below is legit, but it's damn funny. I actually thought it might be real until I did some digging and found this. It might be fake, but Heart really is donating 100% of the royalties to Obama's campaign.

f-you john mccain

Crank it up.

They aren't my favorite band, but they gained some seriously credibility by doing what they are doing with the royalties.

Mike: How did you know I drive a Honda? You’re obviously breaking that restraining order I had placed on you.
