Manicurist Needed

Blue JaysThe Toronto Blue Jays might be the first team in urgent need of a really good manicurist.

A.J. Burnett lost most of the nail on his index finger after closing a car door on it. As a result, he was unable to throw his curveball until a fake nail was attached last week.

Now comes word that third baseman Scott Rolen has lost most of a nail on his right hand when it was struck by a ball during fielding drills. He could be out a month.

This team needs a manicurist!

Another Toronto team done for the year even before season starts.
Shannon Stewart for Reed Johnson - GIVE ME A BREAK.
Jays release as opposed to trade Reed & get nothing in return. J.P. you are a mirror image of JF jr.

Yeah, I'll miss Reeder, too. One of those guys who goes all out all the time, kinda like how I play. Always reminded me of Craig Biggio, in the way that if his uniform wasn't dirty, he probably had the day off.

He'll catch on somewhere else, no doubt.

I too disagree with this decision. I liked Stewart fine, could hit for average and steal you a base, but Reed is far better defensively and plays the hard nosed style I dig the most.

He'll most definitely get picked up and will likely have a great year.

I actually agree with Riccardi on the Stewart thing, The yankees have had Giambi playing first who is a horribe firstbasemen defensively but makes up for it offensively.
If Stew can hit .300 and do his typical thing at the plate we won't notice him too much in Left Field. George Bell was the same way, horrible defensively but we loved his bat.

We're not really comparing 2008 Shannon Stewart with George Bell, are we?

Reed could hit too, in fact he did a mere two seasons ago. This move was to save a buck.
