Platinum Blonde - Standing in The Dark
Last night, during dodgeball, someone threw on a mix of 80s tunes. I heard Bon Jovi and Kenny Loggins and for some reason I started thinking about Platinum Blonde.

Platinum Blonde were huge in the mid-80s. I was listening to 680 CFTR and they played the crap out of "Cryin' Over You" and "Situation Critical". The Toronto Star used to print posters of CanCon acts each Saturday (or was it Sunday?) and I remember the Platinum Blonde poster well. I don't think it made it on to my bedroom wall, but I did collect these posters for a while. That will be our little secret...

Whoa, dude... talk about a blast from the past... back when CFTR played music, that is. Tom Rivers, Mike Cooper... good times.

I had that Platinum Blonde cassette, too. Thank you, Columbia House for making that dream a reality.

That was my station for most of the 80s. Tom Rivers was my morning man. I remember Mike Cooper and Bill Hayes and the gang, too.

Here are other entries where I dropped the call letters CFTR: http://www.torontomike.com/fastsearch?IncludeBlogs=1&search=cftr
