A Great Tradition at the Exhibition

CNEWhat the heck happened to our summer? Can the CNE really be starting up tomorrow? In the words of the great Cinderford, Gloucestershire band EMF, that's unbelievable.

If you want to revisit my many Canadian National Exhibition memories with me, visit my CNE page where I've shared stories from my three years working there as a game booth attendant.

Here are some of the highlights:

Hey Mike,

Love your Blog...former Toronto girl, now living in Ottawa (go Sens)

Can't think of the Ex with out thinking of the free passes we got on the last day of school and the guy who used to always shout "doggy doggy and look at the polar bear oi yoi yoi" I can still hear the guys voice and inflection in my head...

For nostalgic reasons the Ex has been one of my favorite parts of summer. I remember my parents taking our whole clan and friends when we were younger, I remember going as a young adolescent scoping for cute guys along the midway. Oh how I loved the food buliding and would leave everynight with gum, gum, gum and more gum. My Aunt & Uncle and cousins have been performing there as trick riders in the Horse Palace for years. Now as a mother, I have introduced my kids to the CNE and I can see that it has become a highlight of summer for them as well. This summer we will miss it do to health reasons but I will be following along of all the highlights through Toronto Star and BT.
