Welcome Back, LaKisha

Published May 2, 2007 @ 09:24 in American Idol

IdolWelcome back, LaKisha. You were missed. You were my favourite from the start, but you seemed to lose your way in recent weeks. Last night, your performance of Bon Jovi's "This Ain’t a Love Song” was the best of the bunch.

LaKisha, go get Blake and put him in front of the Idol PC. Blake, that reworked version of “You Give Love a Bad Name” required stones, but you pulled it off. It was so cool, I almost forgot I was watching AI. Now go get Jordin, if you don't mind.

Jordin, what happened? I though you might win this thing. Last week, I had you pegged as the best of the final six but last night you brutally murdered “Living On a Prayer”. Do you realize what that song means to me? Do you understand how many mix tapes I made with that song on it? You're young, you're fun, but you're going home.

Here are my three favourites from last night:

  1. LaKisha Jones
  2. Blake Lewis
  3. Melinda Doolittle

Here are my three least favourite from last night:

  1. Jordin Sparks
  2. Phil Stacey
  3. Chris Richardson

Told you I was right about Jordin. ;) I actually enjoyed Phil & Chris. Phil has the big voice for the rock songs & how about that jacket?! Chris' Justin-esque sound was a change for the song & they finally called him J.T. on the show.

Blake rocks! I'd almost get one of those "Blaker Girls" t-shirts. http://www.cafepress.com/blakergirls

Last night was definately interesting on AI and things shifted just a bit. Jordin did fall from grace(this was not her genre') but I will definately forgive her as Bon Jovi is not my favorite sound sung by anybody. It is too early for her to go home and she still could be a contender.
Blake blew me away and I love the fact that he takes risks.
Lakisha was good but damn.....she scares me when she sings. Some of her facial expressions are full of aggression.
Chris is not JT and even my daughter Brooke was offended by this comparison. Also he forgot the words.
Phil was okay but I guess he should be as he confessed to millions that he has been practicing this song for years.
And lastly....Melinda can sing anything.
I will be jumping for joy if Chris and his naselly sound are homeward bound.

I notice a lot of people's facial expressions are scary when they sing, I'm even conscious of it when I sing. It usually happens when you're hitting those high notes & the song's sad, angry, etc.

I have to agree Chris looks & sounds like J.T. - he even stole his hair style - only Chris is cuter. I think Justin is ugly & I'm not alone. Other artists sound "nasily" to me too.

I feel for people when they forget the words as I froze singing @ a house party once. It's human error, you blank. I don't know how I'd react singing an artist's song in their presence. I've been asked how I can remember the words to so many songs & I'm just glad I can most of the time.

I do believe Melinda could sing anything.

I'm sorry to see Phil & Chris go. :( @ least they'll have the tour...
