The Boys of Summer

bluejaysNot to harp on the essence of time, but has it really been nineteen years since George Bell hit those three homers on opening day? He was my favourite Jay and coming off an MVP season and I was so friggin happy when that third homer cleared the fence.

The Jays are playing the Tigers right now. I love opening day when anything is possible and spring is in the air. My Blue Jay-related entries can be found at http://www.torontomike.com/toronto_blue_jays/ if you want to get back in the groove.

Go Jays Go! The boys of summer are back in town.

Mike,
I remember that like it was yesterday. I am from Buffalo where I am surrounded by Yankee fans and Mets Fans and Boston Red Sox Fans. However, I grew up a Jay fan. I remember that Opening day as well. George Bell was my all time favorite Jay until Joe Carter came to town. To this day though George still ranks right up there. If I had to list my top five jays of all time it would be Carter, Bell, Devo, Fernandez, and Molitor. I live for baseball season in Toronto. I admit I havent been to a live game since the year before last I got Major League Ticket on the Dish and I get 100-120 jays games on TV. I plan on doing a game or two this year though. Looked like a great start today 5-3 in 10. From the last day of the season I start counting the days till spring training. And here we are opening day and Win number one!

Are you going to the home opener next Monday at the Dome? (I still refuse to call it the Rogers Centre)
