Lower Bay TTC Station

Published by Toronto Mike on February 25, 2007 @ 11:19 in TTC ~ Toronto Transit Commission, Toronto News ~ Toronto Focus

ttcIn order to work on the tunnel roof between St. George and Bay stations, the TTC is rerouting westbound trains through the Lower Bay subway station. The Lower Bay station is an abandoned platform that was only used for six months in 1966. They now use it to train new drivers and for movie shoots. Here you can see it dressed up as a New York subway station for Don't Say A Word.

This diversion is temporary, so we can only experience the wonders of Lower Bay during Saturdays and Sundays from February 24 to March 31, 2007. There's already some sweet video of Lower Bay on YouTube, but the clip below makes you feel like you were there.

No Lower Queen. It was planned, charts were made, but absolutely no shovels touched the ground.
