Chris Cornell Quits Audioslave

In my recent Edge analysis I referred to the upcoming Rage Against the Machine reunion. The RATM reunion might be more than a one off for Coachella. Chris Cornell has quit Audioslave.
"Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave. I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors," said Cornell.
I see this as a good thing. I liked Audioslave and all, but they were no Rage Against the Machine and they were no Soundgarden. If it takes an Audioslave breakup to bring back the Rage, we all win.
Cornell says he's going to concentrate on his solo career, but can a Soundgarden reunion be far behind?
