Freedomland

A Movie ReelFreedomland: 5.5 out of 10.

This flick seemed unfinished, as if they had all the footage and they threw it together. It starts pretty strong but loses it's way. Some plot lines are dropped completely and the ending seems tacked on.

I'll admit, I agreed to watch this with Taryn because of the cast. I dig Sam Jackson and Julianne Moore, and both are pretty decent in "Freedomland", but where was the direction? What was the point of Freedomland? Can they really lock down an apartment complex? What was Ron Eldard's purpose?

Hi!

Ron Eldard's purpose was to play the VERY MINIMAL role of Danny! Frankly, with what little he was given, he was wonderful - as always!

:) - Merry Christmas!

I wasn't criticizing Eldard's performance, but they introduce his character and get him all involved and then forget about him completely. It was as if they changed their mind about having that character in the film.

Hi Mike.

No, I know you weren't and you're right! It annoyed me so much - it took me longer to get home from Manhattan than his timeframe in the movie (LOL!)!! The movie itself really cut a lot from the book; which I felt was waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too long to read!!!
