Maple Leafs 2, Florida Panthers 1

LeafsUntil Darcy Tucker scored the shootout goal that secured us the two points, I was sure we were snake bitten. We absolutely dominated, peppering Alex Auld with 48 shots, many of them quality chances. If Belfour was in net for the Panthers, this would have been a cake walk.

We're now 1-1 in shootouts, a promising sign. Our power play, however, has started to tank. We were 0 for 6 with the man advantage last night. Still, a win is a win, and we earned this sucker.

The 0 for 6 doesn't do the power play justice. The Leafs had plenty of great scoring chances. Yesterday none went our way, the next game we may capitalise on them all. Hockey is all about randomness.

Hey, u must be happy with the Maple Leafs start to the season. I must admit that I was disspointed when they did not buy an established forward or two (but I like ur new goalie) and felt that the team was a bit dull...I change that now. If Matt Stajan can live up to expectations, I think the Leafs will do well. I am still steaming over the 6-0 thrashing my Sens got at the hands of the Leafs - but we shall see who ends up in a better position. Here's hoping that all 6 Canadian teams make it to the playoffs and that we have an all Canadian Final.
