Three More Theatres Die

Published by Toronto Mike on May 22, 2006 @ 12:30 in Toronto News ~ Toronto Focus

thumbsdownThis weekend I paid tribute to the old Runnymede Theatre which is no longer a theatre. I lamented that the days of smaller, charming neighbourhood movie theatres are long gone. Today, another nail was hammered into that coffin when it was announced three of Toronto's repertory cinemas will close at the end of June.

The Revue, the Royal and the Kingsway are the three shutting down. Steve, didn't we just see "Meet The Parents" at the Kingsway? I hated the flick, but loved that shitty theatre.

Enjoy your Googolplexes kids. You win.
