Pat Quinn, June 1998 - April 2006

LeafsPat Quinn has been fired as head coach of our Toronto Maple Leafs. He went 300-222-52 with 26 shootout and overtime losses as Leafs coach, twice leading Toronto to the Eastern Conference final, losing to Buffalo in 1998-99 and Carolina 2001-02.

I sincerely believe every head coach has an expiration date. Eight years is more than enough. I've been calling for the axing of Quinn for a while, considering it a necessary step in gutting the pig.

It's time for Paul Maurice to step into the hot seat so the healing can begin. It's clear who won this power struggle.

Listening to the comments made by Fergie Jr. I've come to realize he is an arrogant SOB. Wouldn't commit to Paul Maurice as the next coach. We all know he will be & Fergie should have Quinn let go AFTER the Marlies finished their playoff run & then made his choice. My personal opinion is that Fergie should have been let go & keep Quinn. Quinn could only play the cards he was dealt with & they seemed to be 4's & 5's - no face cards or Aces. Good Luck Pat where ever you may surface & you will.

I'm not sure if he did win the power struggle. I could be wrong but if a new President comes in it might mean the end of Fergie. The leafs need to be restructured from the top down. Winning team on the ice can only come from a winning head office, and we clearly did not have that this year.
