Sacrilege
Published by Toronto Mike on March 23, 2006 @ 08:11 in Toronto Maple Leafs
I like Coldplay as much as the next guy, and I've got every one of their discs in my collection, but what they did last night in Toronto is completely unacceptable. Actually, it's sacrilege.
Prior to their concert at the ACC last night, Coldplay had the Toronto Maple Leaf banners removed from the rafters. Gone were the eleven Stanley Cup banners and the retired #6 honouring Ace Bailey. More disturbing than that, the retired #5 that honours Bill Barilko was also removed. Is nothing sacred?
How this action didn't result in a riot at Bay and York is beyond me.

Indeed I can't beleive they let them do that !! I read that is was because they were filming a DVD.. But still.. The place where the DVD is filmed should be recognized, rather then be an anonymous location..
They did'nt bring anything down in MTL, but then again, there might of been no filming..
