Cartoons Conquer CompetitionPublished by Toronto Mike on February 9, 2006 @ 12:53 in Music
Has a fictional group of cartoon characters ever won a Grammy? They have now.
"Feel Good Inc." by the Gorillaz and featuring De La Soul won last night for best pop collaboration with vocals. The Gorillaz are a fictional band comprised of virtual beings 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. I've got two Gorillaz albums in my collection and they're great.
Although I missed it, this virtual band actually performed live at the Grammys last night with none other than Madonna. It's worth watching for the Gorrillaz element and you can check it out from this Yahoo! Music page. It didn't like my browser so I was forced to open IE for the first time in months, but it's worth it.
Damon Albarn was nowhere to be seen.
