Hiya Mike,
I've been wanting to post for a while to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. Exactly 2 years ago I moved to Manchester, UK from Toronto. I found your blog when I was looking up the Hip and I thought it was cool. We have a lot in common in that I've been listening to CFNY since the early 80's and I went to Michael Power too. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to tell you that when I'm far far away in a foreign culture logging on and reading about your little slice of TO brings me back home.

Only moments ago I drove by Michael Power Place where our high school used to reside (of course, it's all condos now) while listening to CFNY Edge 102. I find this fact both comforting and pathetic, all at once.
Since you mentioned you're now living in Manchester, UK, please permit the following tangent. I was in high school when CFNY was all about the Manchester scene. The big three bands were the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Inspiral Carpets. Although I was never a big fan of this scene, I was always particularly interested in the Inspiral Carpets because their keyboard player was named Clint Boon. To this day I still sort of follow Clint Boon's career with the Clint Boon Experience. If you bump into him, please ask him to contact me.
