Anyone is welcome to submit a Guest Blog Entry to torontomike.com.  I received the following submission earlier today.

I think I almost peed myself reading the "Good Charlotte" comments on this site.

"Good charlotte is the best punk act of all time. You can't say they aren't punk, they have the peircings and tattooes to prove it!" - Tina, November 2003

I don't know about you, but I don't think tattoos and piercings mean that you are punk. That's like saying that because you eat pizza you are Italian. Let me educate the teeny-boppers on what being 'punk' is:

Punk = Piercing & tattoos. Simple.

I know plenty of middle aged, middle class men that certainly are not punk, yet they have tattoos and piercings. And for that matter I know a bunch of guys that have both piercing and tattoos and instead of being 'punk' they are goths, or hip-hoppers.

Why this morning on my drive to work, I saw a balding wrinkly old man (he must have found a way to mix his blood with embalming fluid) with a tattoo of a serpent and a big diamond earring. He was driving a Dodge Caravan. not a Harley or a Good Charlottemobile. A Caravan. This guy was not punk. This guy was the anti-punk!

Last time I checked, your physical appearance & the way you dress does not determine how "hardcore" you are towards something. Just because a middle class white teenager listens to rap & hip-hop does not mean that he understands what the culture is all about. All that means is that he is a lemming. A blind follower. This person has no idea of what struggles the people who have come before him (i.e.: Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Muhammed Ali) have had to suffer to get to the point where we are at today as a society. Being 'punk' or being 'down with hip-hop' is not a fashion statement, it's a way of life. People who dig music and a certain culture because of appearances (Oooh, I'm a badass, I have orange hair!!) or because of a perceived "cool" factor are nothing but posers. P-O-S-E-R-S. These people set back the forward momentum that the real people behind the culture are trying to achieve back about a decade by being nothing than a bunch of commercial, consumerisitc whores. By following the new trends.

Why, I remember some older trends in music .... Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, New Kids On The Block, Snow, MC Hammer, Billy Ray Cyrus ... But try telling someone back then that "Achy Breaky Heart" blew monkey dong ...

And you know what? Once the new trend stops being Good Charlotte, they'll be what they were before: Nothing but a bunch of guys playing crappy music wanting to score with chicks. Hell half the guys I know in College do that. The difference is that they don't have a record contract and don't have their music in the 'punk' section at HMV or Sam Goody. I'll admit that they must be somewhat decent to GET a record contract but on a scale of 1 - 10 they are (at best) a 2 or a 3, in my opinion. Either that or they whored themselves out.

So please, stop your crying. Good Charlotte sucks, they make terrible music and you ladies are teeny-bopping posers.

Ranking Good Charlotte as a 2 out of 10 is extremely generous.
