This is my fourth attempt at writing this blog entry. I just received some very sad news from my brother Ryan.
Ryan and Kara learned today that one of twins they were expecting has passed on. Apparently, this is always a possibility at this stage when you're carrying twins, but this fact hasn't lessened the sadness I feel for them. When I heard the news, my heart sunk. I can't imagine how Ryan and Kara feel right now. When Ryan told me on the phone, I wept.
I entitled this entry "Heartbreak and Hope". There is much hope, for Kara is carrying a healthy boy. I have no doubts they will make exceptional parents giving their son all the love they can muster. My intention is to be the best uncle possible and I can't wait to get started. I strongly believe everything happens for a reason and we must trust that today's events did not transpire in vain. Out of this sadness will emerge a beautiful baby to love and cherish. This is going to be one lucky boy.
